Homelessness has become an increasing problem in the Nation, State, Orange County and here in Huntington Beach. Through cooperation among city staff, volunteers, nonprofit and private organizations to address homelessness, Huntington Beach can make positive changes in the lives of the homeless, while also respecting the rights of home and business owners.
Since January 2016, the Huntington Beach Police Department has assigned two full-time Homeless Liaison Police Officers to assist with the numerous calls regarding the homeless issues within the City. In addition, a part-time Homeless Liaison Coordinator and a part-time Homeless Case Manager were hired to network and coordinate the City’s activities for services and housing resources for the homeless. In addition, the Office of Business Development is committed to serving property and business owners by assisting the Police Officers and coordinating with business owners.

In addition, the site also provides a detailed description for business and property owners about steps their rights and various steps and actions to be taken pertaining to actitivies which may occur on their property.
