The Huntington Beach Public Library system’s mission is to support the
educational, informational and cultural needs of our patrons by providing access to library facilities, materials and information for the betterment
of the community .
We've been providing library and cultural services to the city of Huntington Beach since 1909.
Our historical landmarks include:
1909 First library in Huntington Beach
1913 Carnegie Library built at Walnut & 8th
1951 New library opened at 525 Main Street
1975 New Central library opened at 7111 Talbert Avenue
1994 New expansion with Children's wing, theater and meeting rooms.
2001 Internet services begins with web-based catalog and periodicals database.
